Why Jasmino Chose the Haut Brix System

In the last few years, many technologies have appeared on the market with the purpose of lowering production costs and improving time management. These crucial innovations have allowed Jasmino Farms to grow while not compromising on our renowned high quality.

Jasmino Farms has been a longtime partner with H2O Innovations because their technology, namely their efficient burners and leak-tracking systems, have allowed us to maximize production and streamline our workforce.

H2O Innovations and their products brought peace of mind to our sugar shack with their patented Haut Brix system, as well as with their touch-up evaporator. The Haut Brix system operates in two steps. First, it removes 93% of the water from the maple sap through osmosis; then, it proceeds to the crucial step of putting the remaining sap on low heat for a final evaporation.

The evaporation process is a necessary step to ensure our maple syrup has its delicious rich flavour and golden colour. Precision is necessary to ensure consistent results with the syrup making process and the Haut Brix evaporator allows for incredible control over flavour. The difference between good and great maple syrup is all in this final step of evaporation and Jasmino Farms understands this.

While the Haut Brix evaporator is without a doubt the best system of its kind, it is still possible to make good maple syrup regardless of the system used. That said, we prefer Haut Brix for its unmatched ability to give us the most control over the syrup making.

Further, eliminating 93% of the water before boiling the syrup reduces our energy usage by a corresponding 93%. Such a savings reduces our carbon footprint, a good step towards ensuring a bright future for generations to come.
